Hi all… I’m still getting caught up on posting…only 2 more to go and I’ll be up to date on our weekly Sub52 activities! Woohoo!!!
With Father’s Day being this last Sunday, I’ll give you one guess on what our creative project was for the week!!! (Holidays are just the best creativity muses, aren’t they?!) And since we love making our own cards, we (well, it was mostly Ashley…I pretty much just assisted) made a Father’s Day card for Tom. It was actually a 3-part card mobile, if you will, and it was really simple to do and could be adapted for many other occasions.
First, I purchased this 4 1/2 x 6/1/2″ paper stack book from Diecuts with A View. Not only does it have some fun outdoorsy-themed paper, it’s also 70% recycled:
Tom REALLY loves the outdoors – in fact, he often says that if he could live outside full time he would! – so this was the perfect paper for him.
Ashley then selected these 3 cards out of the stack that she thought Tom would like:
After picking out the cards, she simply cut out some ribbon and then taped the ribbon to back of the cards. Then she cut some string to make a loop and taped it to the back of the top card. She finished things off with a pic of Tom, a squirrel sticker, some block lettering, and a little message from the four us (cats included, of course)! Tom really loved the card/mobile. How could you not with those cute little beavers on there?
My own Dad is no longer with us but is painting away in the heavens now. So before I sign off I’d like to share my favorite pic of him. I love this photo because it perfectly captures him as The Artist and I absolutely love all the colors and his painting in the background:
Here’s wishing a most Happy and Belated Fathers Day to all the dads out there!
