WordPress, Blogging, and The Pie of Knowledge

WordPress, Blogging, and The Pie of Knowledge

Hey all you awesome people out there!  My creative time has been in overdrive lately still trying to get our blog up and running now that we’ve switched over to WP.org.   Wow, I had no idea how much there is to know about blogging on WordPress.org!    It reminds me of how many things there are out there that I have absolutely no knowledge about, and worse yet, all the things out there that I don’t even know I don’t know.     There’s a great graphical representation of this that Tom actually told me about called the “Pie of Knowledge”:

Look how big that Blue slice is!  And when it comes to  WordPress, Codex coding and Blogging, there is definitely a LOT in my Blue slice.  Although over the last month, some of that knowledge in the Blue slice has moved to Purple slice, and hopefully soon I’ll move some of it into the Green slice!

Art is that way as well – there’s so much you don’t even know you don’t know until you start getting into it.  I think that’s the thing that draws me too it… there’s always more to learn when it comes to art, crafting and creating so you will never ever get bored with it.   But knowing there’s so much to know and learn about can also be intimating, however I try to steer clear of thinking about that.

So why am I talking about all this Pie of Knowledge stuff?  Well, aside from the fact that I think it’s interesting — and also that we get to talk colors! — I’m just trying to explain why the only creating we’ve been doing the last couple of weeks has been tweaking this blog!

If you get a chance, please check out our Hello There (About) page, as it’s one of the things I’ve been spending a lot of time on lately.  Also, please leave a comment and introduce yourself to us!!!  We’d love to hear from you!

In the meantime, I’ll be working on growing my Blogging/Word Press Green slice so I can get back to some tangible creating instead of virtual creating!

See ya soon!

Suburbativity52 is now Creativity52 !!!

Hey everyone…I’m happy to announce that we are changing the name of our blog.  Suburbativity52 is now Creativity52! Why the change?  Well, Suburbativity was really fun to say, but sort of hard to spell.    Also, we didn’t want folks to think the blog was just about living in the suburbs.  It’s really meant to beContinue Reading

From April 19, 2014: Well friends, it seems that Spring just might possibly be here…FINALLY!  We actually had to turn our air conditioner on the other day, so that’s a good sign, right?    Ashley even started to comment about how hot it was.  I stopped her short though and told her with the never-ending winterContinue Reading

Thrift Shop Treasures

From March 20, 2014: This past Saturday, we had some GORGEOUS weather – 60 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. But don’t get too jealous, because just two days later (on Monday), we got 10 inches of snow!!!  Yup, that put us at Snow Day #14.  All I can say to that is, UGH.Continue Reading

Changing Seasons, Changing Wreaths

From March 9, 2014: Hello dear friends.  Today it was a glorious day in VA.  The temp got all the way into the 50s and the sun was a shinin’!  It’s funny how your perspective changes when you have several weeks of temps in the 20s and 30s.  Now, 50 degree weather almost seems likeContinue Reading
